Leslie Russell, M.A., is President and Founder of JOY BREAKS BARRIERS Coaching and Training Company.
A dynamic trainer, coach, educator, speaker, comedy improv artist and laughter therapist, Leslie has traveled the globe supporting a variety of Fortune 500 companies, small and medium businesses, hospitals, financiers, educational institutions, non-profit (for purpose) organizations, government officials, religious institutions, entrepreneurs and exhausted housewives to reach their personal/organizational goals and maximize their potential.
Leslie's expertise and greatest passion lies in her ability to facilitate and train individuals and teams to use their organic joy to build better relationships, bridge cultural differences, breakthrough limiting beliefs, and glean innovative insights. It is through this transformational process that ordinary executives, employees and lay people turn into extraordinary innovators once they are given the insights and tools they need.
Leslie brings a wealth of experience and knowledge around positive psychology, team building, diversity training, innovation, creativity, strategic planning, emotional and intuitive intelligence, and change management.
Currently, she works at HD Schools in Ningbo China as an educator and education consultant developing specialized curriculum for character education and bridging cultural differences.
Previously, Leslie held the title of VP & Head of International Training and Innovation Specialist for ANICAN - and the Transatlantic Negotiation School of Business and First Empire Group - a training consultancy firm based in Kenya and Nigeria. She trained African small and medium business enterprises in innovation and business development.
The origin of Leslie's truly innovative and creative life was chartered by her improvisational comedy career at the famous Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, where she wrote and performed in numerous comedy sketches with a sundry of “Saturday Night Live” stars. She is founder and artistic director of the all female comedy improv troupe Women Gone Mad.
She attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and received her Master’s Degree in Theater and Education and Bachelor's degree from University of California at Santa Barbara in Organizational Psychology.
